Our
Projects

AEDAlbania is dedicated to transforming cardiac emergency preparedness across underserved regions. Our current focus is a pilot initiative in Shkodër, where we are installing public AEDs, conducting CPR training, and working with local stakeholders to develop sustainable emergency response protocols. Each project we launch is rooted in data, equity, and community impact, creating a foundation for a national model of cardiac safety.

Shköder

As one of Albania’s largest cities and a regional hub in the north, Shkodër is a strategic starting point for improving cardiac emergency response nationwide. AEDAlbania is launching its pilot here by mapping high-risk zones, installing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in key public areas, and offering bystander CPR training to residents. This initiative aims to address the country’s limited access to life-saving equipment and standardized emergency preparedness.

Durres Beach

As one of the country's most visited coastal destinations, Durrës Beach experiences high seasonal foot traffic, making it a critical site for public safety. AEDAlbania is expanding to this area by installing AEDs near beaches, boardwalks, and tourist zones, while partnering with local authorities and lifeguards to deliver CPR training. This project strengthens rapid response capacity in a region where minutes can mean the difference between life and death.

Kukës County

Located in Albania’s mountainous north, Kukës is one of the country’s most underserved regions in terms of emergency response infrastructure. With limited access to hospitals and long EMS response times, residents face heightened risk during cardiac emergencies. AEDAlbania is working to install defibrillators in key public spaces and provide CPR training to community members, empowering rural areas with life-saving tools and knowledge.
